What each platform is

Holistic AI describes itself as an end-to-end AI governance platform for global enterprises running AI at scale. Its own framing is a three-part loop: automatically scanning cloud platforms, code repositories, and SaaS applications to build an AI inventory and surface shadow AI; running 40+ specialised technical tests covering bias, safety, security, and performance with continuous monitoring; and automating compliance workflows with continuous audit-evidence collection. It maps to the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, and NYC Local Law 144, and sells to enterprises through a sales-led motion without published pricing.

The honest differences

  • Technical model testing: Holistic AI runs bias, safety, security, and performance tests against systems themselves. Attevera does not test models — it operates the obligations-and-evidence record, into which your test results (from any source) land as evidence. If you need testing infrastructure, that is a genuine Holistic AI capability Attevera does not offer.
  • Automated discovery: Holistic AI scans cloud, repos, and SaaS to build the inventory automatically. Attevera's register is populated by your team — guided by a classifier and template, but human-entered. At enterprise scale automated discovery matters; at mid-market scale a five-pass manual inventory is typically a one-to-two-week exercise.
  • Regulatory scope: Holistic AI spans multiple frameworks and jurisdictions (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, NYC LL144). Attevera scopes to the EU AI Act deliberately — deployers and product teams, with GPAI provider obligations (Articles 51–56) explicitly out of scope — and trades breadth for per-article depth.
  • Buying motion and price transparency: Holistic AI is enterprise sales-led with no published pricing. Attevera is self-serve with public pricing. For a mid-market team, that difference is often the whole decision: one path starts with a sales cycle, the other starts this afternoon.

Which one you need

  • Global enterprise, hundreds of AI systems, need for automated discovery and in-platform technical testing across several regulatory regimes: that is the job Holistic AI describes itself as built for.
  • Mid-market product team, EU AI Act is the pressing regulation, and the need is a defensible per-system record with owners and evidence against the Act's staged dates — Article 50 on August 2, 2026, Annex III on December 2, 2027: that is Attevera's job, at a price and motion sized for it.
  • Enterprise with a Holistic AI deployment whose product teams still need a lightweight operating rhythm: less common, but the record layer and the testing/discovery layer are different jobs and can coexist.
  • Either way, the input both need first is the same: an inventory of your AI systems with classifications. If you have neither platform yet, start there — it is the artifact every path requires.

Is Attevera a smaller Holistic AI?

No — the overlap is narrower than it looks. Holistic AI's differentiators (automated discovery, 40+ technical tests, multi-framework coverage) are things Attevera deliberately does not do. Attevera's differentiators (AI-Act-native obligation mechanics, self-serve motion, public pricing, monthly review rhythm) target a different buyer with a different budget.

Does Attevera do bias or safety testing?

No. Attevera records which controls and tests your obligations require, who owns them, and the evidence that they ran — the testing itself happens in your stack or a testing platform. Evidence is acknowledged by your reviewers, not verified by Attevera.

We're mid-market. Is an enterprise platform overkill?

That is a budget-and-scope question only you can answer, and pricing for enterprise platforms is quote-based, so compare real numbers. As a rule of thumb, teams under a few hundred employees rarely need automated discovery at enterprise depth, and are usually better served starting with a maintained register and classifications — which can be stood up in days.

Which platform makes us EU AI Act compliant?
